One of the products whose trade is going on in all countries of the world and for this reason it has a special value and importance, are all kinds of fruits. Iranian businessmen and businessmen also invest in this sector and get good profits. Therefore, in the following article, we have described useful information about the way of trading and clearing all kinds of fruits from customs. Fruits are classified as organic and natural foods and are rich in vitamins and unique properties for the human body. Specialist doctors consider daily consumption of 2 to 4 units of fruit to be useful for humans, and for this reason, all kinds of fruits are produced all over the world.<\/p>\r\n
What fruits are allowed to be traded in Iran?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The agricultural industry in Iran is very advanced due to the favorable climate and soil conditions of various provinces, and a large amount of various plant products, including fruits, are produced in the country every year. In addition to meeting the needs of Iran’s consumer market, the amount of these products is also sufficient for supply to the world markets, and a good amount of profit and currency enters the country in this way. Iran’s neighboring countries, due to the high quality of Iranian fruits, annually supply high amounts of their needs in this field through imports from Iran. Currently, we do not have any problems in the field of exporting different types of fruit and exporters can operate in all fields.<\/p>\r\n But the import of fruit in Iran is facing bans due to the protection and consumption of domestic products. These prohibitions include all fruits except 4 of them. 4 fruits whose importation is not prohibited due to shortage inside the country are: bananas, coconuts, pineapples and mangoes. The mentioned fruits are grown only in tropical weather conditions, and for this reason, Iran’s agricultural industry is having trouble producing them.<\/p>\r\n Laws governing fruit trade in Iran Article 11 – Importing seeds, onions, cuttings, transplants, roots, fruits, seedlings and seeds of plants and in general any kind of plants and plant parts into the country requires obtaining a prior permit from the Ministry of Agriculture for those who import the said goods without a permit. It is warned that they should be returned abroad within a maximum period of one month, otherwise it will be destroyed in the presence of a representative of the plant protection organization at the customs.<\/p>\r\n The entry of dried, canned, preserved, cooked, frozen and similar fruits is subject to compliance with Article 16 of the Food, Beverage and Health Law approved in 1345 as follows:<\/p>\r\n Article 16 – From the date of approval of this law, customs clearance of food or health or cosmetic products in any form and quality for commercial or advertising purposes, in compliance with general regulations, in addition to having a health and consumption certificate from the country of origin, requires obtaining an entry permit from the Ministry of Health. And the importer is also obliged to submit to the Ministry of Health the formula of the materials as well as the materials added to them for the purpose of obtaining the said license.<\/p>\r\n The entry of seeds and plants that are clearly considered tampered with in the export documents of the country of origin, i.e. produced with genetic modifications, is subject to the approval of the Environmental Protection Organization in terms of environmental risks. Article 18 – Vegetable products that are exported from Iran to foreign countries are examined by quarantine experts, and if the product is healthy, a vegetable health certificate is issued.<\/p>\r\n What permits are required for fruit clearance?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The clearance of any goods from the customs requires the submission of a series of special documents and permits, which the official clearance of the customs department is responsible for their preparation and finally handing over to the customs department. The importation of any type of fresh fruit is subject to compliance with Article 11 of the Plant Protection Law approved in 1346 as follows:<\/p>\r\n
The import and export of modified living organisms and transgenic products are required to comply with the provisions of the National Biosafety Law by obtaining prior permission from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad.
For one and a half kilograms of apples or export of one kilogram of raisins or export of one kilogram of oranges, the import duty of one kilogram of bananas is determined equal to 5% of the value.
